Summary

  • The Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 introduces a new area called Dogtown with a lawless, black market setting.
  • The DLC features new weapons, many of which are illegal.
  • A variety of special weapons, pistols, and melee weapons are added in the DLC.

The one and only Phantom Liberty DLC is here for Cyberpunk 2077, and it brings with it a lot of new content to the game with an additional zone, narratives, NPCs, and delightful ways to kill enemies with flashy new weapons. The spy-thriller narrative of Phantom Liberty means that V will need a tough new arsenal to keep up with the backstabbing going on around them. Among the included weapons are many unique Iconics for V to either find or purchase in the Dogtown district.

Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC may not have new romanceable characters, but it offers a thrilling new storyline that takes players to the new area of Dogtown, a dangerous combat zone. One of the key features of this setting is the lawless abandon that has overtaken the zone, including an active black market. Shopping for new guns and katanas in Dogtown includes many illegal weapons, which makes them even more fun to use.

With almost 40 new Iconic weapons added to Phantom Liberty, it gives players a chance to really explore what types of weapons are the most fun for them, as well as a lot for weapon collectors to enjoy getting. The black market in Dogtown makes it easy to obtain Iconics that V may have missed out on earlier in the game too. Here is a closer look at some of the best weapons added to Cyberpunk 2077.

6 Iconic Tech Revolver: Gris-Gris

Gris Gris in Cyberpunk 2077

The new Iconic tech revolver Gris-Gris is a beautiful little gun that packs a unique punch. This fun weapon in Phantom Liberty is obtained after completing the mission The Damned in Slider's Hideout, and besides offering several buffs to damage, it will also put a random Quickhack in its victims. With this, there is a chance for any number of surprise extra effects, such as the enemy bursting into flames, attacking themselves, becoming an ally, and more.

5 Iconic Smart Assault Rifle: Hercules 3AX

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Special weapon Hercules.

Hercules was the most intriguing of the new weapons that were shown in the trailer for Phantom Liberty. This smart assault rifle adds toxic poison damage to its targets, with a chance that poison can explode and leave pools of acidic traps on the ground for other victims to get injured by. It can be obtained during the mission Roads to Redemption.

Hercules is one of the guns included in the above trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, which debuted at Gamescom 2023.

4 Iconic Power Sniper Rifle: NDI Osprey

Of the new guns for Phantom Liberty, the NDI Osprey looks the most militaristic with its sleek, tactical style. Dogtown is the home of the Barghest Militia, which are trained soldiers who could have played a role in the weapon's origin. It is found in the corner of Alex's safehouse underneath her bar, The Moth. This powerful power sniper rifle can offer +50% armor penetration and an astounding +200% headshot damage.

3 Iconic Tech Sniper Rifle: Rasetsu

Cyberpunk 2077 also adds the Rasetsu tech sniper rifle in the Phantom Liberty DLC. Rasetsu looks less like a sleek and stylish military weapon and more like a railgun sniper and was manufactured by Tsunami Defense Systems. It has an Iconic modifier that lets charged shots shoot through multiple victims at once and can even have a chance to turn mid-air to hit some enemies out of the original line of fire. In the trailer prior to the release of Phantom Liberty, this gun leads V to say "preem view," which in Cyberpunk slang essentially means "cool view" due to its unique feature of zooming in the first-person view rather than aiming with a traditional scope.

2 Iconic Chainsword: Cut-O-Matic X-MOD2

A chainsword held aloft in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

The entire concept of a chainsword is amazing, but the Cut-O-Matic XMOD2 makes it even more fun. This incredibly violent weapon is actually an Iconic version of the Budget Arms Cut-O-Matic, which is also introduced with Phantom Liberty and features modifications to make it even more deadly. This weapon can have up to two mods installed on it and includes a modifier that increases headshot damage by 50% and has a 30% chance to apply burn to a victim.

1 Iconic Power Pistol: Her Majesty

Her Majesty gun in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

The Iconic power pistol Her Majesty is given to V during the new campaign for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and is one of the best and most powerful weapons in the game, even to the point of being almost overpowered. When used during stealth, this pistol does 150% additional damage and guaranteed crits on headshots if Optical Camo is active.

The Phantom Liberty DLC also includes many weapons that are not Iconic, such as some budget-friendly versions of the ones listed above, but the Iconic weapons are what really stands out. As is the case in the rest of the game, Iconic weapons are the most powerful and unique, with only one of each Iconic in the game. With these weapons, Cyberpunk 2077 has made V's job of wiping out enemies even more fun.
