Per Baldur's Gate 3's rule system, a party can only consist of 4 members, including the player themself, but one mod has the ability to increase that number. Any loyal D&D player knows that the more party members you have, the more fun you have; the same is true here.

With the Party Limits Begone Mod, players are able to increase their party size from 4 to 16 total members. This means no more having to choose between all of your camp companions or going back and forth to swap people out for the convenience of having a certain Baldur's Gate 3 class type with you. Instead, you can round them all up and bring them along for the adventure.

How To Install The Party Limits Begone Mod

Unfortunately, given that this is a Badlur's Gate 3 mod, it is obviously only available for PC, so console players will still be stuck with their maximum party limit of 4. However, those enjoying on PC will be able to install and run this mod in just a couple of simple steps.

This mod can be found on Nexus Mods, where a free account will need to be set up if you do not have one already. Once that is done, head to the Party Limits Begone Mod page and download the .zip file. Once downloaded, unzip the file and move the whole folder into your Baldur's Gate 3 Data folder.

The Data folder is the actual game folder, not appdata. It should be found in files under \steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data.

From there, simply drag and drop the bg3.exe file into the PartyLimitBegonePatcher.bat file, which will create a backup. Once that is done, open up the game and the mod should be active. There will likely be a warning when opening the game that something isn't quite right with files, but that is expected, just dismiss it and proceed.

If it appears to not be working, try dismissing one of your current party members and then re-adding them to reset. Remember that managing a party in Baldur's Gate 3 can be taxing, especially with 16 members, so if it becomes too much, this mod can be deactivated at any time.

As long as everything was done correctly, there should be no issues and party limits should have increased. Unfortunately, this mod is not compatible with the native Mac client, so a Windows one will be required, and additional software will be required to run it.

Additionally, players should be wary that certain interactions in Baldur's Gate 3 are locked into the 4-member maximum limit, so the game may have trouble if one of these encounters occurs. To fix this, simply dismiss other party members, complete the interaction, and then add them back afterward and everything should be good to go again.
